1. Rich cladding:

2. TWO COLOR TONE

White has long been the default paint color for ceilings, unless you're a designer – in which case it's definitely not an essential color. It's easy to default to white for ceilings, but it's rarely the right thing to do, says Andrew Griffiths, founder of London design studio A New Day.

4. DECORATIVE MOLD
